The United Nations Population Fund Sub-regional office for the Caribbean/Guyana has been working to achieve improved access to comprehensive, gender sensitive sexual and reproductive health services; including HIV/AIDS prevention among adolescents and young people as well the prevention of gender based violence. UNFPA has provided technical and financial support for several initiatives to government and non-governmental agencies. This support includes HIV prevention activities in barber shops and beauty salons and for capacity building initiatives for men on SRH, gender based violence in an effort to mobilize men to advocate with their peers to eliminate violence against women.
